Stars document the quality of the accommodation
You might be familiar with the “star classification” of the different quality standards in tourism. The German Tourism Organisation “Deutscher Tourismusverband (DTV)” has been doing these classifications of holiday apartments, guest-rooms and houses for many years. Hence, the stars represent the following features.
Fully furnished with simple comfort
Fully furnished with medium comfort
Comfortably furnished with good comfort
Highly developed furnishing with first class comfort
First class furnishing with special additional features in the service department and an outstanding infrastructure of the accommodation
The German organisation for holidays on a farm “Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft für Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof und Landtourismus in Deutschland e.V.“ and its länder members are members or licensees of the German Tourism Organisation (DTV). Due to this fact, they are allowed to revise their members, meaning those who take part in the organisation, according to the criteria of the DTV. Moreover, they award them with stars.
The classification is valid for a period of three years.
